Melville (Civil Service), Mr Scofield (Caversham), Mr A Tough (Southern Bible Class), and Mr Lilly (Dunedin Anglican) followed in a similar strain. Mr Hussey replied on behalf of S( Joseph's Club, and acknowledged the deep debt of gratitude his club were under, to Mrs Jackson, who voluntarily offered to arrange the matter of refreshment?, and had done so admirably Three cheers were given for Mrs Jackson and her friends. The trail, led by Dawson and Idversidee. after passing through the new township of Waverley, led over some open paddock, in the direction of the Lower Portobel!. road. When on the road the paper con tinned along it for perhaps three-quarters el a mile before again ascending the slope and coming oa the Highcliff road on the way home.
