POISONED TONGUES.

A Thames message states that a great sensation w.-is created at Paeroa yesterday afternoon TVhen about fifty people who were in attendance at the Ohinemnri Jockey Club races were attacked with ptomaine poisoning Ainongst the eatables supplied at luncheon was potted tongue, anid it is believed that this was the cause of the attack.. Some of the cases were very serious, and it was feared that there would be loss of life. Some suffered so seriously that they had to be carried to Paeroa on stretchers.
