MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

At the weekly meeting of the Hope of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held in the Ealniy street Oddfellows’ Hall, there was a ,ood attendance of members and visitors. Arrangements were made to hold an “at uome” on an early date, and also a reunion with kindred societies. An interesting letter from XJmbala, in India, was received and the Order out there is in a flourishing condition, even' regiment having a lodge in connection with it, besides native lodges. It was resolved to have a picnic at Burnside. A Bruce auction of useful and ornamental goods was conducted by the C.T., and caused a lot of amusement, as well as benefiting the funds. An excellent programme of harmony was contributed. The following responded to the vote of thanks • —Bro. Fletcher (Lily of the Valley), Bro. Mann (Alliance), Bro, Butterfield (Ark of Love), Bro. Martin (Evergreen), Bro Hilt (Star of Freedom); Bro. Baxter (Geraldine) and Sis. Campbell (Pioneer).
