Mr Justice Cooper is returning to Dunedin by the second express to-night, after silling at Hokitika and Wellington. Mr David Larnach, president of the Otago United Friendly Societies’ Council, has been appointed as representative of that body at the Conference of Friendly Societies, to be held at Wellington in Mav next Mr W. Gibb.-D.P., No. 19 District, U.A.0.D., will represent that district at the same Conference. The Tima.ru critics are speaking highly of Mr Irwin Moore's organ playing at a recent recital at Chalmers Church, Timaru,' and the same gentleman is said to have met with snccess in his production of Gaul’s cantata ‘The Holy City.’ Mr Wilfred White, who for some years has been on the Timaru stuff of the Bank of New South Wales, latterly as accountant, has been promoted to the staff of the bank at Dunedin. At the Building Trades’ Exhibition in London in 1901 he was awarded first premium for a thesis on ‘ The Manufacture and Testing of Portland Cement,’ and he claims exceptional experience in designing and construction of public works, such aa roadmaldng, bridges, culverts, eta, various footpaths, main sewerage, and sewerage disposal works, refuse destructor and power plants and cellection of hcrae refuse and nightsoil, bring out of parks, gardens, etc., waterworks, including construction, of reservoirs, aqueducts, pumping machinery, etc., public buildings,.including model lodg-ing-houses, houses for the working dais, markets, abattoirs; hospitals, police and fixe stations, municipal offices, etc., and electric tramways.
