MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The annual meeting of the Cargill Kilwinning Lodge, No. 652, S.C., was held in the Masonic Hall, Port Chalmers. The lodge was opened at 7.5 by the R.W.M. (Bro. P. Helean), and the ordinary business • having been disposed of, the R.W. Bro. A. M‘Lean, S.D.G.M., with the officers of the District Grand Lodge of N.Z. South, S.C., were announced, and received in due form. The R.W. Bro. M‘Lean having assumed the chair, .proceeded to install the R.W.M. elect (Bro. Alexander Mac Donald) as R.W.M. for the ensuing year. Afterwards the. following officers were presented to the R.W. Bro. Armstead, S.D.G.W. ; Bro. P. J. Helean, P.M.; Deputy M., Bro. R. Robertson, P.M.; Sub. M., Bro. J. Arnott, P.M.; Director of Ceremonies, Bro. R. Mitchell, P.M.; S.W., Bro. J. Pickard; J.W., Bro. T. R. Wright; secretary, Bro. J. C. Ripley; treasurer, Bro. D. Munro; S. Deacon. Bro. J. F. Hutton; J. Deacon, Bro. A. dark; 1.G., Bro. H. W.
Mitchell; Chaplain, Bro. A. Kennedy; Tyler, Bro. J. Calderwood; stewards, Bros. J. Manning, D. Mac Donald, W. MacDoufall, and H. Fletcher. Ther address to, the t.W.M. was impressively given by the R.W. instating officer, and to the Wardens by the 11. W. Bro. M'Gregor, b.D.G.D.; while the brethren were addressed by the R.W. Bro. Armstead S:D;G;W; -The R.W. Bro. Mac Donald returned thanks for the honor conferred upon ! him, and received tho congratulations of s the visiting R.W. Masters present. Be-* fore closing P.M. Bro, J. Arnett presented I.P.M. Bro. P. Helean with a silver teapot, as a token of the esteem in which he was held by the brethren of the lodge, and for the very able manner in which he had car- J ried out his duty as acting R.W.M. Bro. Helean suitably responded, and after prayer i by the Chaplain the lodge was closed. ’During the installation ceremony W. Bro. D. Cooke officiated at the organ, and Bro. 800 l sang a solo.
