ST. KILDA MAYORALTY.

TO THE 'EDITOR. Sir,—ln your issue of last night you hare a local inserted stating that Mr W. J. Burk is likely to be a candidate for the mayoral chair at the coming election. I may say that 1 consider that Mr Burk irill mate a very good mayor, and !•trust that the ratepayers wiU support him on this occasion. Park Ward has never had a chance to secure this office, as Mnsselburgh Ward has always had the monopoly. Further, the present mayor has now had two years in the chair, and I think it is only right that be should stand aside and allow someone else the same privilege.—l am, etc., No Monopoly. March 15.
