[From Cue Special Correspondent.] The above clnb were favored with fin* weather for tlieir eighth annual gathering held, on the racecourse at Balcluthg yesterday. Gate receipts cam© to £l9 9s 6d—just a little ahead of the previous year—a poor gate considering the population of the district.; but ns a class they are not racegoers. The dub do not aspire to a totalisator, but license a number of cadi fielders, of whom on this occasion there were fifteen. Fields were uniformly good, and excellent sport resulted. The hero of the meeting 1 was Mr V. R. Townley’s Last Ensign, a son of Occident and Red Ensign, who won three events, and wont near to winning a fourth—something of a record for a galloper. Betting was fairly brisk, and the public seemed to'have rather the best of it, mainly owing to Last Ensign’s triple victory. Air V. J. P. Anderson made his debut with the starter's flag, and was, very successful. Mr Alex. Setri© officiated as judge with his usual skill and judgment., and Mr W. E.
