THE LIBERAL VOTE. Press Association—By Telegrapli—Copyright. LONDON, September 10. (Received September 13, at 8.40 a.m.) The bye-election for the vacancy in Elgin district, caused by the death of Mr Alex. Aeher, K.C, resulted in Mr Sutherland (Liberal) being returned. He polled 2,474 votes. Mr Rose Innes, the Unionist candidate, received 1,021 votes. [Although the strength of political parties is not affected by this election, Mr Sutherland has increased the Liberal vote at the General Election of 1900 from 1,744 to 2,474, whilst the Unionist vote has fallen from 1,187 to LOZL]
