FIRE BRIGADES' PARADE

The South Dnnedm Fire Brigade organised and carried out a parade yesterday morning, and several other brigades sent representatives. Firemen are not fineweather birds, so despite the repellent weather conditions the muster wafl satisfactory, about fifty men turning ont. They were "led tn- the Navafa" Band under Band-sergeant Yeoman, and made a brave show as they marched through the mud from CargiU Corner to the South Dtmedin Presbyterian Church, where they listened bo an instructive sermon preached: by the Rev. R. Mackie. The following brigades were represented at the parade : South Drmedui, Captain Price and 14 men; Caversham, Captain Foster and 12 men; St. KUda, Captain MTEenzie and 13 men; and Hillside Workshops, Captain Wrllrins and 10 men.
