A cood deal .of comment has been caused in the lobbies by the disclosure of the contents of a letter adressed by one of the witnesses in the Fisher charges to his Wellington fiancee. This letter -was left in a waiting room by the lady, and a members wife, who was waiting for her lord and master, with feminine inquisitiveness picked it up and read it throngn. After the usnal confidences, the letter went on to say that " T. E. Taylor was going to pot up a candidate in every oonstxtnency at the next election; that he expected- to oocoe back to tfae Etoueo with a majority, and in that event the writer was bo get a good position in the Government service." Subsequenily the addressee hurriedly returned, picked up the letter, and departed. A number of members believe the letter to be genuine; others incline to the idea that it was a " plant," and that the letter was laid there, so that it might be read.
