The Countess of Onslow, who is oh a short visit to the Non. George Ml ean at Warrington, was yesterdav shown over the Seacliff Asylum by Dr Trnby King. At the end of the week Her Ladyship proceeds to Queenstown, and after doing the Lake district goes through the Otira Gorge from Christchurch to Reefton, thence overland to Nelson. The Countess then returns to the North Island, journeying from Auckland to Sydney, where she will rejoin the Ortona at the end of February en route for Eng land.
Mr Newton King, Mayor of New Plymouth, is mentioned as a probable candidate for the Patea seat at the General Election. •*.-
