THE CANTERBURY EXHIBITION
The following correspondence explains itself: ,On Tuesday afternoon the Mayor of Christchurch sent the following telegram to the Premier, at Westport:—“At a meet-' ing of citizens today doubts were expressed as to whether .you intend the exhibition to be purely colonial or international. Your letter of December 19 refers entirely te colo nial Kindly wire,' and remove misapprehension.—C, M. Gray, Mayor.” The Premier replied as follows last even-, ing:—“ Exhibition is to b© international. ,1 thought I made it clear when I said it was to surpass anything, held hitherto in tho colony.’—R. j. Seddou.”
