CITY POLICE COURT.

Drunkenness.—William Alexander, an .3d age pensioner, was fined ss, or twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Obscene Language.—Albert Goodman, for whom Mr Irwin appeared, pleaded guilty to using obscene language in Rattray streetlast night.—His Worship inflicted a fine of £3, or fourteen days' imprisonment. Vagrancy.—William Walker alias Wilson was charged with being deemed to be an idle and disorderly person who habitually consorted with reputed thieves and prostitutes. Mr Irwin defended.—Sis Worship, after hearing the evidence, held that the police had failed to prove that accused habitually consorted, and dismissed the case. Maintenance.—Edward- Brown, for disobeying a maintenance order, was fined 20s and costs (7s). Uncontrollable Child.—Helen Louise Haymes, aged fourteen years, was brought up as being ao uncontrollable child.—The father stated that his daughter was untruthful, and that she stopped away from home at nights.—His Worship adjourned the case till to-morrow, hi order to give the father an opportunity of saying whether he could pay 5s a week and give security for payment of the money if the child were committed to the Industrial School.
