BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.
The weekly meeting of the above, held to-day, was attended by Messrs P. Tresedor (chairman), R. M. Clark, R. Wilson, A. E. Tapper, J. Thompson, and the Hon. H. Gonrley. The number of applications for relief dealt with was 29. The secretary reported that during the week two inmates had left, and one (J. Cheetham) had been removed to Seacliff Asylum. A donation of 1591b of barracoota from the latter institution was acknowledged with thanks. Supplies requisitioned for and passed by the Visiting Committee were authorised. The secretary reported that during March the number of cases of outdoor relief attended to was 318—131 men, 224 women, and 551 children, being involved in these—and the cost per week was £lO6 4s. The figures for the corresponding month last year were 307 cases, embracing 119 men, 216 women, and 511 children, at a cost of £lO2 Is 6d per week. Accounts totalling £391 5s 6d were passed for payment.
