TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
Forr.TH Day.—Ttiesday. Further misfortunes in the way of bad weather retarded the progress of the tournament to-day, and play had to be stopped shortly after 1 p.m. At a meeting held last night the Committee decided to postpone the final contests in the championship events to next Saturday afternoon. This morning several games in ladies' and combined events were got off, and some good matches resulted. C. Salmond and R. S. Brown also met in the semi-final of the Men's Champion Singles, and Brown won rather easily, as shown below.
Following are the results so far:— MEN'S CHAMPION SINGLES. Fourth Round.
R. S- Brown beat C. Salmond, 6—l, 6—2. LADIES* SINGLES HANDICAP. Third Round.
Miss FaJrclough beat Miss Bridger, 9-4. Fourth Round. Miss W. Hislop beat Mi?s Brown. 9—7. COMBINED HANDICAP DOUBLES (Firsfc Grade.) Third Round. Dr Marks and Miss Marks beat S. N. Brown and Miss Laing, 9—7. Bauchop and Miss Bauchop beat Gresham and Miss Fairclough, 9—7. Fourth Round. Corrigau and Miss Jeffreys beat C. White and iliss Royce, 9—6. LADIES' DOUBLES HANDICAP. Second Round.
Misses Law and B. StewiSJ beat Misses Laing and Murray, 9—6.
