PERSONAL.
The following have been elected clerical and lay representatives of the Diocese oi Dunedin by the Anglican General Synod: Clergy—Very Rev. Dean Fitchett, D.D., Yen. Archdeacon Gould, Yen. Canon Richards, M.A ; laity—Archdeaconry of Dunedin (Mr Augustus Hamilton), "archdeaconry of Queenstown (Captain E. T. Wing), archdeaconry of Invercargill (Mr F. W. Bicknell), archdeaconry of Oamaru (no nomination). The vacancy for Oamaru will tie filled by tbe Standing Committee. it Thomas Hinchiiff, clerk of the Port Chalmers Magistrate’s Court, retires from the sendee on October 21. Mr Hinchiiff has been forty-one years in the Government service, thirty-eight of which have been spent at Port Chalmers. Miss May Beatty, at the conclusion of her Sydney season with the Musgroves, contemplates a trip to England. A Wellington wire states that Mr A. D. Riley, director of tbe Technical School, resigns his position from the Ist January next, in order to enter private business.
