A conference of delegates of the South Coast agricultural societies convened by the Agricultural Department decided to start a dairy shorthorn herd book for the State. The State Commissioners are pushing ahead arrangements to handle an expected record wheat harvest. Allowing 2,000,000 bags for local waits, they expect 2 r SOO,0 r 'o will be left for export, as against 687,000 'bags last export year. ADELAIDE, October 27.
A party out fishing m a 9-ton cutter in Investigator Strait hooked a schnapper. A 20ft shark pursued tbem and struck the cutter, making a large hole in her. The party had barely time to escape ha a dmgey before the cutter sank. The force of the impact -killed the shark.
