LONDON, May 22. The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £33,407,000. The reserve is £25,171,000, the percentage of the reserve to liabilities being 51.43. The notes in circulation total £28,571,000; public deposits, £8,531,000; other deposits, £40.305,000; Government securities, £14,800,000; and other securities, £26,636,000. Three months' bills are discounted at 3 5-16 per cent. | Consols are quoted at £9l 15s. Quotations for colonial Government stocks are subjoined, compared with those ruling two weeks since:—

Wheat: La Plata, 621b to the bushel, 28s 4d; freight, 17s 6d. Copper: Spot, £62 10s; three months, £62 10s. Tin : Spot, £133 12s 6d; three months, £132 12.« 6d. Pig iron, 52s 6d. L«ad, £ll 10s. Sugar is dull and unchanged. Bradford wool is quiet, but very firm. At the sales the Otekaike clip realised 10id. Butter (dull): New Zealand, 96s to 975; Danish, unchanged. Cheese (quiet, but firm): New Zealand, 65s to 665. (Received May 23, at 10.50 a.m.) Kauri gum is in good demand. One thousand three hundred and sixty-seven cases were offered and 800 sold. Prices arc unchanged. Silver is quoted at 2s 0 15-16 d per oz.
