Officials making desperate efforts to raise ten million taels to present her with on her seventieth birthday. The anti-dynastic nlnls have invested Linngau, go uth of Yunnan, and killed the Prefect. The French Consul-General nt Yunnan reports the situation is serious, and that telegraph lines to the south are interrupted.
