(Received May 22, at 9.10 a.m.) Shrewsbury's betrothed, who was in the house at the time, heard the first shot, and called to ask him what he was doing. He replied "Nothing," and fired the second ■diot immediately after. He had told her recently that he would be in the churchyard in a few days. A verdict of temporary insanity was returned at the inquest
