LAWN TENNIS.

The Otago Association’s annnal toarnament was began yesterday in perfect wear^ r i. o ota g°> University, and ExHigh School Chibs’ courts were utilised and though entries were large, good pro’ gress was made in the preliminary rounds of the various events. In addition to J*** 1 players, competitors came from Ashburton, Lyttelton, Lawrence, and Invercagill, so that something of’ an interprovmcal flavor was added to the tournament. There were no particularly brilliant sets standing out from the rest of the play wh«± was m general of the safe and steady rather than the dashing order.
