LONDON, April 9. His Majesty the King was received at Gibraltar with the heartiest demonstration. One hundred ships, including warships, were dressed with hunting. At the State banquet held at Sir George White’s residence King Edward announced that he had promoted Sir George White to be field-marshal. He eulogised the new field-marshal’s great abilities and services to the Empire.

MOROCCO’S GREETING.

LONDON, April 9. The Sultan sent the Governor of Fez to Gibraltar, where he greeted King Edward, and congratulated him on his coronation.

FRANCE DELIGHTED

LONDON, April 9. The French nation are delighted at the King sending four ironclads to greet President Loubet at Algiers.

THE PARIS PROGRAMME

LONDON, April 10, (Received April 11, at 9.11 a.m.)

The King laid the coping stone of King Edward’s dock at Gibraltar, and made several excursions in the vicinity of the Rock. He also attended a garden party. The official Paris programme is that King Edward shall arrive on the 21st and dine at the Elysee and attend a gala performance at the Coroedie Francaise on the 26th. He goes to London on the 4th nit.

HIS STATUE IN MADRAS.

CALCUTTA, April 10. (Received April 11, at 9.11 a.m.) India’s first statue to King Edward has been unveiled in Madras.
