(Received April 11, at 9.25 a.m.) , -Alter June next there will be no separate list of Royal Military College candidates for cadetships in the cavalry or foot guards. Cavalry cadets will be selected according to results of an examination, and if they are good riders, have a satisfactory knowledge of horsemanship ) and are recommended by the Commandant of the College. The new regulations enjoining economy will render it possible for cavalry officers at Home stations to live on a considerably smaller private income than has hitherto been the case.
