Licenses were issued to 7,908 auctioneers in England last year. The disciplinary council of the Munich Bar have just had brought before them a barrister charged with, the high crime and misdemeanor of taking part in amateur theatricals. ■ The impugned lawyer pleaded that he had charged no fees, but the Bar Council declined to admit that this want of prudence purged ihe offence, and imposed a fine, together with a sharp reprimand.
