MR CAINE DEFRAUDED.

A particularly cruel fraud was recently perpetrated upon Mr W. S. Caine, M.P., writes the London correspondent of tlm 4 Leeds DailyNeWs.’ A man cladiu mourning called at Mr.Caine’s town residence, ami begged an interview. Upon Mr Caine appearing, the caller, with, considered) o emotion, related ; that his wife had jusdied in childbirth, and as he was a stranger in the district begged that Mr Caine would read the burial service over the body at his chapel Mr Caine was much touched at the man’s grief, and pro. mised to comply with the request. The stranger, after profusely thanking hinrfor his kindness, stated that he had just come from the insurance people, and that they had paid him in notes, and suggested that perhaps Mr Caine would change one for him.
