A LETTER OF THANES.

TO THU EDITOR. Sir, —It is the least one can do to tender thanks to the Corporation, for the holiday granted to the tramway employees yesterday. It was,- indeed, a day of quiet rest. For several years ws have had no Sunday rest, because my husband goes out at eight o’clock, like any other day. Ido not think many can realise just what this means. For one thing, it means no Sunday dinner, in the usual sense of the word. Dinner, indeed, we have, but father is . out, so one drops in at one time, another at another; father’s dinner must be taken to him,- etc., etc. Think of the discomfort; on BundSyi too. Those of the hor* 'hold who attend church go, and when the p.ayer arises for “ all who are kept Away by legitimate causes” some hearts throb a little, thinking or the dear one so differently occupied. Would it not be possible for the men all to get a Sunday off altogether, say, once a month? Again thanking* the Corporation for yesterday’s pleasant tSrad—l am, etc.,, „ ~ Employee's Wire. September 29.
