FIRE AT HAWERA.

A NARROW ESCAPE,

HAWERA, September 29. A fire occurred late last night in a home occupied by Mr Richdale, baker. - Four children, alone in the place, had a narrow escape. The eldest gui, eleven yea n of age, was awakened by the baby crying, and gave the alarm. Constable Ryan got into the building and rescued three children, while the fourth, an infant,, was got .out by another person. Had the alarm been delayed five minutes there would havh been a tragedy to report.
