IMPORTS UP, EXPORTS DOWN.
ANTICIPATING THE BUDGET,

The Board of Trade returns for January show that the imports increased by £4,143,832, but that die exports decreased by £498,957. The latter is attributed to a fall in the price of coal, while the imports of sugar were double the usual quantity i: anticipation of the Budget.
