DEPUTATIONS TO THE PREMIER.
CHRISTCHURCH, February 10. _ In reply to a deputation the Premier said he would place before Cabinet the suggestion that Government should subsidise a steamer for the Chathams in order to provide more frequent communication. He would also bring under the notice of tue Land Purchase Commissioner the question of sending an officer to report on the portion of Pitt Island offered to the Government for settlement purposes.
