FIRES.
CHRISTCHURCH, February 10.
A twenty-roomed house at Taitapu, telonging to Mr G. G. Holmes, was completely destroyed by fire on Saturday morning. The building and contents were insured in the Victoria Company, but the amounts are not known. AUCKLAND, February 10. A house at Mount Roskfll, owned and occupied by Mr George Campbell, tailor, was totally destroyed by fire. It was iusured for £3OO in the Natic/nal Office. 'The furniture, which was also destroyed, was valued at £3OO, and was uninsured.
