After the Flying a protest was entered against Lord Rule, alleging inconsistent running in the Welter on the first day, but it was proved that on pnlling up in that race rt was found that one of Lord Rule’s stirrup leathers bad broken.

At a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association held at Christchurch last night a letter was read from the Victorian Association thanking the New Zealand Association for entertaining the Victorian team at the recent championship meeting, and congratulating the New Zealand representatives upon their success. A report was received stating that the proposal to send W. F. Simpson and G. Smith to England would he well supported in Auckland, and that Smith could make the trip. It was decided to ascertain whether Simpson could get away, and to ask the affiliated chibs what assistance they could give to the scheme. The New South Wales Swimming Association, in reply to a letter from the New Zealand Association, have decided that it is inadvisable for a team to visit the South Island.
