CASUALTIES.
A drowning accident occuired yesterduafternoon at Wanganui, a lad named Maurice Fitzmaurice, aged eleven, being ':e victim. He went for a bathe with somi other lads, and got out of his depth. The body was recovered. The father is in England, and the deceased, with his mother d brother, were to have left in a few days 'o join him. The body of a newly-bom male infant, wrapped in flannelette, and placed .n » pillowslip, was found by some children yesterday on the Thorndon esplanade (Wellington). The child had been dead for from five to ten dura.
