The election for East Lanarkshire resulted as under: —Sir William H. Rattigan (Unionist), 5,673; Mr Cecil Harmsworth, of the 'Daily Mail' (Liberal), 4.769; Mr Smillie (Labor and pro-Boer), 2,900. [Sir W. H. Rattigan was defeated by the Liberal candidate in 1900, when he polled 5,567 votes.]
