AMERICAN ANARCHISTS.
TRIAL OF CZOLGOSZ. Press'Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Czolgosz, who shot President M'Kinley, maintains an air of unconcern. * Evidence was given that the prisoner, while in gaol, in the presence of several witnesses, deliberately and unhesitatingly confessed that he bad dogged the President, for days, seeking an opportunity to shoot him. Ho said he believed in no form''of government or marriage relations. Every head of a State was a tyrant, and ought to be killed. .The woman Goldman's teachings had influenced him, but he alone planned the deed, and accepted the responsibility. Mr Lewis,. one s of the counsel for tbe defence, declared that the prisoner bad steadfastly refused to aid them. The prisoner was entitled to any doubt. If the jury, were able to declare he was an irresponsible person it would lift from the public mind a great load. The jury returned a verdict of "Murder in tbe first degree." Accused was remanded till Thursday-for sentence., . Goldman, the female lecturer on Anarchy, lifts been released from custody. ■ NEW YORK, September 25. (Received September 26, at 9.15 a.m.) Mr Lewis informed the Press that he refrained from calling witnesses as to the prisoner's insanity, because alienists were prepared to testify that Czolgosz was sane.
