Mrs Drake, who had been arrested in Auckland on a charge of stealing her husband's furniture, is alleged to have eloped with a man named M'Govern (who was a wharf laborer here), af,ter her husband had made over to her a considerable amount of city propertv. AUCKLAND, September 17. Thomas Montgomery and Anne Maar Drake tvere remanded at the Police Court to-day to Wellington on a charge of theft, Bail was allowed.
