THE UNIVERSITY FRAUDS
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, September 17. (Received September 17, at 10.5 a.m.) It is now stated that the Melbourne University debentures which are supposed to have been stolen never existed. The person responsible for the shortage of funds is believed to have abstracted the money and covered the deficiency by entering in the books that an equivalent amount in debentures had been purchased.
