ROSLYN DORCAS SOCIETY.
Tho annual meeting of the Koslyn Dorcas Society was held in the Roslyn Council Chambers on the 29th inst., the Rev. Dr Bannerman in the chair. The meeting was opened with prayer, after which the secretary (Mrs Burrows) read the Committee's report for the past year. Forty-seven persons_ had been aided by the society, including five widows and thirty children. The aid given had, as usual, taken the form of provisions, coal, clothing, and bedding. Subscriptions amounting to over £7O, in monthly contributions, had been received, which had been supplemented by donations of clothing and bedding, by which the operations of the society had been greatly furthered. The thanks of the Committee were tendered to the Borough Council for the use of their chamber for the Committee's weekly meetings; to Mr Wedge, town clerk, for his uniform kindness and ready assistance to the Committee; and to the collectors for their diligence in visiting their several districts. The following bal-ance-sheet, audited by Mr A. Mathison was submitted:—lst September, 1900. Balance in bank, 15s 8d; subscriptions for year, £7O 18s 3d; interest, 2s 7d; total, £7l 16s 6d. Expenditure—By provisions! £4O 8s; fuel, £l2 4s lOd; clothing, £8 l 9 £2; Uaw in bank, £8 3s lid; total, £7l 16s 6d. The reports were adopted; thanks were given in accordance with the Committee's report; and the retiring office-bearers and' members of Committee were all re-elected for the ensuing year.
