SYDNEY, January 22, (Received January 22, at 9.5 a.m.)

A cyclonic storm, with terrific rain, passed over the city last night. Two .and a-half inches of rain fell within half an hour.

Last night's storm did thousands of pounds' worth of damage, flooding the shops and cellars. The water was three feet deep in King street, and inundated the business places. A rubbish bos was carried by the force, of the water through a large plateglass window.
