Having finished loading operations for London, the ship Westland was towed down from Dunedin last night, and anchored off Deborah Bay, where she remains until matters connected with her sailing have been finally squared up. She is expected to get away on Thursday, should the weather be favorable. She has 6,325 bales of wool on board.

Messrs Ncill and Co. are advised that the Huddart, Parker, and Co.'s s.s. Westralia, leaving Dunedin on the 4th February for Hobart and Melbourne, will visit Milford Sound en route, provided weather conditions are favorable, thus giving travellers an opportunity of viewing the fine scenery of the Sound.

On Sunday the Huddart-Parker liner Zealandia is due in Dunedin from Sydney via, the usual ports of call. She returns on the following Tuesday on the same route. The Upolu, from the West Coast *ia Timuru, arrived at 7.30 p.m. yesterday, and was berthed at the Bowen pier to discharge a quantity of wool and to tranship coal into the hulks. She left Timaru at 8.30 a.m. yesterday. At four o'clock this morning the Invercargill arrived from Waikawa with a load of timber and produce. It has been decided that the Mawhera, 'which has been utilised for the WestportWellington trade for some years, shall replace the Southern Cross in the Tahiti trade. The Mawhera -will undergo an overhaul prior to leaving Wellington early in [February. Captain Lake, formerly of the Southern. Cross, will be in command. She calls at Lyttelton, and is due in Dunedin on Saturday. H.M.S. Mildura, froni Akaroa, arrived at "Port Chalmers this forenoon, and anchored off Carey Bay in order that her officers and a portion of her crew may take part in ■welcoming the returned troopers by the Orient. The Mildura left Akaroa at 2 p.m. yesterday, had light N.E. winds with smooth sea, and passed the New Zealand Government steamer Tutanekai off Oamaru at 6 p.m., and reached the Heads at 9 a.m. to-day, steaming into port as above.
