THE IMPERIAL TROOPS.
His Worship the Mayor has received an urgent message from the Acting-Premier stating that the Imperial troops will reach the Bluff on the 2nd February, and not the 3rd, as at first intimated. The Government have been advised that the Imperial troops will arrive at the Bluff on February 2. The Acting-Premier has asked the Mayors of Invercargill, Gore, and Oamaru to make arrangements to entertain the troops - when passing through their t°™s. The troops, who number about 1,000, are to be conveyed in two special trains. If possible, arrangements will be made for a portion to visit Wanganui en route to Napier. The probable visit of the troops will be to stay one day in Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland, and two davs in Wellington.
