The .Alhambra Theatre was overflowing with people on Saturday night, when a new programme was presented by Mr Fullei’a Varietv Company. The songs sung by Mi-s Eva' Wilson, Miss Georgia Devoe, and Messrs Thomas, Faning, Dean, and Stevens were evidently suited to the taste of the audience, as encores had (o be responded to in every instance. The entertainment, which concluded with a laughable sketch entitled ‘ The-Midnight Intruder,’ tent the audience home in the beat of spirits. Thomas Buddioomb, the jockey who sustained severe injuries while riding La Reine in the First Hack Raoe on Thursday, is progressing as well as can be expected at the Hospital, Subscriptions in aid of the sufferer were collected by Mestrs J. A. Williams and J. A. M’Ginness at Wicgatui on Thursday and Saturday, with the result that the handsome sum of £6B odd was raised, and handed to the sporting editor of this inurnal. to be paid to Mrs Buddicomb.
