RE LEVEN STREET, ROSLYN.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — There appeared in your paper some weeks back a letter calling attention to the disgraceful state of Leven street, Roslyn. In spite of the vigorous appeal of your corlespondcnt. for the proper authorities to attend to this matter, nothing has so far been done. May I, sir. through your columns, once more express the hope that this matter will speedily be put to rights. The stale of the footpath adjoining Mr J. A. Park’s proper tv is a disgrace to the suburb; and the present want of adequate lighting leaves much to be desired. Hoping the Roslyn Borough Council will see their way to remedy this defect—l am, etc ' Roslyn. i Roslyn, April 7. | OTAGO SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION 1 EXHIBITION. I TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Your correspondent “ C.8.A.” is surely rash in his protest, or he protests too much. “ A.8.C.," and for- that matter the public, had every right to expect a statement ! as to the results of the Exhibition long ore this. The Sunday School Union professedly exist for the joint benefit of a large number of town and country schools, and, to say the least about it, it is passing strange that no official indication has yet been made as to the financial results of the Exhibition or thi purpose to which the surplus, if any, is to he devoted. j We are now assured that a balance-sheet will be forthcoming, and any items of the expendi- i ture may then be discussed, and I for one sincerely hepe that there may be no cause for any “ pitiful little grudge ” against any of the officials, who, like Csesar’s wife, should be “above suspicion.’’—l am, etc., B.A.C. Dunedin, April 8.
