SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
At the monthly meeting of the Seacliff School Committee on Monday evening the following resolution was carried :—" We regret tho loss to the district of the mistress, Miss Aitchison, through the attendance of the school falling off, she having been highly esteemed l.y both parents and children." li Teas resolved to forward a copy of the same to Miss Aitchison. The Caversham Committee met last night The clerk (Mr Milne) reported that the filter had been completed, and was working satisfactorily. The head-master's quarterly report showed that the average daily attendance had been 494. It was reported by Mr Milne that Miss Bennett had entered on her duties as assistant on the 30th alt. lb was decided that the Edneation Board be applied to for the usual subsidy for tarring and asphalting. The annual picnic is to be held: at Waihola towards the end of the present month.
