DR BEVAN AT KNOX CHURCH.

TO THE EDITOB. Sin,—Will you kindly allow me to correct a mistake which appeared in your columns yesterday with respect to the service to be held in Knox Church on Friday next. Your report states that the deacons of Knox Church wrote asking that the Rev. Dr Bevan might preach in their building on Friday, whereas the letter which was addressed to me contained an offer of the use of the building for the purposes of the Congregational Union. Might I further explain that the deacoas of Knox Church, recognising that ii was desirable that the rev. doctor should have ihe use of one of the largest churches in Dunedin, kindly gave permission for our service on Sunday morning to be held in their church, but owin;* to our having completed arrangements t'r service elsewhere we were unable to take advantage of their generosity. Their second offer was accepted, and the residents of Duned\n will therefore have an opportunity if hearing Dr Bevan as per advertisement, thanks to Knox Church deacons.—l am, etc., F. G. Cray, District Secretary Congregational Union of New Zealand. Dunedin, February 8. P. B.—The free use of the building has been granted, and the proceeds of the collection will be placed to the Congregational Union funds.— F.G.C.
