MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
, (Before E. B.'Carew, Esq., S.M,) P. H&yfflan and Co. v. Helen Fraser (Queenstown).—Claim, £ll, for goods supplied.—Judgment by default, with costs. Bing, Harris, and Co. (for whom Mr Brown-Durie appeared) v. William Selby (Arrow).~Claira, £4 4s 3d, for goods supplied.—Judgment by default, with costs. Henry IHarraway (for whom Mr Sim appeared) v. C. F. Gregory (Pahiatua).— Claim, £8 Bs, for goods supplied.—Judgment by default, with costs. she Dunedin Timber and Hardware Compariy v.. Robert Hardie (Auckland).—-Claim, £4B 9s 7d, on dishonored promissory notes. —Mr Chapman appeared for the plaintiff company, for whom judgment was given by default, with dbstSi Charles Gamble and Cb. v. James Curie. —Claim, £1 17s, for straw and chaff supplied; Mr Allan appeared for plaintiff and Mr Calvert for defendant.—After evidence jud-ment was given for £1 2s 6d, and costs. Helier Smith v. Clement Le Masurier and Jane Le Masurier.—Claim, £2B Is 6d, for goods sold and delivered. Mr Stamper appeared for plaintiff, and the Hon. J. MacGregor for defendants.—Judgment was given against the female defendant for £l3 and costs, and the plaintiff was nonsuited: against the male defendant, with costs. J. W. Cochrane v. W. Oram Ball.— Claim, £7 17s lid, for cash lent at 41 per cent, per annum." Mr Stamper appeared for the defendant.—As the stamp on the promissory note had not been cancelled, His Worship intimated that he would have to nonsuit the defendant or dismiss the case.— At plaintiff's request, he was nonsuited, with costs (£1 Is).
