Apply Stak Oth oe THE MAN IN THE RESTAURANT. HAVE you ever happened to notice how much some thin persons eat ? I was In a restaurant not long ago, and sitting just near me was a very thin man ordering his dinner. His face was pale, his cheek bones pronounce , and there was no evidence whatever that he had any blood in his body. I wondered what such a man would eat, and very soon saw the greatest quantities of food imaginable disappear before his ravenous appetite. Surely, thought I, that man eats enough to fatten ten men. What becomes of all that food? But a lady has written a letter which ought to be presented before I answer that question. “Before I heard of Scott’s EmuMon,” the lady writes, “I was in a very weak state. I was unable to walk any distance without feeling very bad, and was wasting away to a shadow; in fact, I got frightened for fear I was going into consumption. My arm got no larger than a child of four or five years, and when I ate my food I was never satisfied; the more I had the more I wanted, but it did not do mo any good. Instead of getting fatter, I got so thin everybody I knew kept passing remarks about it. When I heard of the good Scott’s Emulsion was doing I tried it. I commenced to take it on June 22, and I am glad to say that after taking one of your medium-sized bottles I was able to walk about without feeling so bad. I got more satisfied with my food, and it seemed to be doing me more good, but when I bad taken one of your largest bottles I could get about easily. I went for long walks without feeling a bit tired; in fact, I never felt so well in my life. It hardly seems true. lam recommending it to a lot of -eople I know, as they can see what a change icre is in me, ■ I hope this letter will be of ime use to you, as I should like people to know te good it has done me. I remain, yours truly, igned) ELIZABETH MAUND, 111 De eauvoir road, Kingsland N., England, July 3th, 1896.” Now, there was nothing in the world the latter with that man I saw in the restaurant, rcept that he was unable to assimilate his food, [is system craved nourishment in a discreet ad easy form, and instead of getting Scott’s mulslon to start it back on the road to health , got nothing but ordinary food. Not being ble to assimilate such food, the man was litertly eating his way to starvation. I hope he ill see the foregoing letter.
