VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
On Tuesday the Dunedin Engineers held one of their very enjoyable social evenings, when, despite the unfavorable weather, a largo number of the members and their friends turned up. Sergeant Russell, who presided, in opening the proceedings, said he was pleased to see such a large gathering, and expressed a hope that they would all enjoy themselves. After refreshments had been partaken of several members enlivened the evening with songs and recitations.
