THE LUCKNOW MINE. [Per Press Association.—Copyright.] SYDNEY, October 21. The authorities of theLucknow 'mine intend to apply for a. suspension of the labor conditions, on the ground that the mine is unworkable owing to the strike. The case will probably come before the warden to-morrow. In the meantime the Minister of Mines, after consulting the Crown Solicitor, has written a minute which states that the Act does not recognise such a case as one of unworkableness.
REPLACING STRIKERS. . SYDNEY, October 22. The Lucknow management have engaged sixty Bendigo miners to replace the strikers. THE FURNITURE TRADE. CHRISTCHURCH, October 22. The industrial dispute in the furniture trades now before the Conciliation Board is adjourned to the 15th November, pending the result of a similar case before the Wellington Arbitration Court.
We hear that the linotypes ordered by the Christchurch 'Press' are three iu number, not five. •- . ■
