THE WEATHER.
Mr Paulin's forecast at 2.45 p.m. was : Squally S.W. winds, heavy rain and hail showers, with snow on the high levels. Indications continuing stormy and cold. A Tapanui telegram states that heavy floods have occurred in the district. The rain is continuing without any sign of the weather breaking. The rainfall at Lawrence to-day was one of the heaviest the district has had for years. ■
