Post Office Notice.

Mails dose at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (subject to any necessary alterations), as under:— Overland, North, daily, 10.30 a.m. Late letters, mail van, 11 a.m. Wednesday. August 25. For Lyttelton, Christchurch, Northern Ports, New South Wales, and Queensland.—Per Waikare, at 1.15 p.m. Late letters. C.P.0., at 1.25 p.m. Friday, August ST. For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, South Africa. Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc, Per Wakatipu, at 2 p.m. Money orders (for Australian. Colonies only), registered letters, books, and newspapers, at 1 p.m. Late letters, C.P.0., at 2.10 p.n*T ; .Letters for the United Kingdom, must be spent ily addressed. Parcels post mails for the Australian Colonies will close at 3 p.m. on the 26th. , A supplementary mail will be made up at 3.30 p.m. (overland, to connect with the Wakatipu at the Bluff).

For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich Islands, United States of America, Canada) South America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a.m. Money orders at 9.15 a.m., book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. Registered correspondence at srp.m. on Tuesday, 31st. . - ; r , (r - Late letten, bearing an additional single rate of postage (2Jd) as a late fee, can be posted in the mail van attached to the North train, leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the Ist. The above mail will close at the branch Post Offices, North Dunedin and South Dunedin—for money orders and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 31st; letters at 9.30 a.m., and newspapers at 5 n.m. on the Ist. At the Port Chalmers Office at 81> a.m. on the Ist; money orders at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 31st. Mails for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, per Taviuni, will close at Auckland on the 25th inst., at 4 p.m. Mails for Noumea, Fiji, and New Hebrides will close at Sydney on the 9th September.
